I have fond memories of Wes - from grade school thru high school. So sad to hear of his passing. I would love to hear the song that was written for him.
This is the first i have heard that Wes had past. We all have great memories of Wes! He was a talent like no other and always a great friend. You will be missed!!!
Wes and & had just gotten in touch again and had plans to meet somewhere around San Antonio during the Texas Music Educators Association convention, and then his partner let me know that Wes had another stroke that he did not survive. I was very, very sad. Wes shared his talent in the Houston Grand Opera chorus, as well as around the Houston area as a High School Music Educator---what a noble calling, and what a voice he had. One of my best friends at Sahuaro.
At Sahuaro, we had more than our share of trips to "The Loft" to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show. We should all have had a Teddy Bear friend such as Wes was.
I was so sad to hear that I missed the opportunity to reconnect with Wes. He was one of the most powerful influences in my life; a touchstone of what really matters. He instilled in me a love of music since the 3rd grade, providing unyeilding support, freindship, and inspiration.
What a wonderful, beautiful soul. If there are such things as angels, I am sure that he earned his wings a million times over.
I will always have you in my heart, and in my voice, Wes. I love you-your 3rd Grade Wife, Deena.
