Carl D. Atkinson

Carl David Atkinson 49, long time resident of Tucson, passed way September 29, 2012. He was born December 4, 1962 into a military family stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. He graduated from Sahuaro High School with the class of 1981. He has been employed as a LPN for the past 25 years at various facilities in the area. Carl was a devoted Christian family man, who loved to be outdoors in nature, riding his bike and otherwise caring for his family. He had a Black Belt in tae kwon do and liked to cook. He is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Sylvia Zapata and a son, Victor F. Bustamante. He leaves two brothers, Charles R. Atkinson of Benson and his twin, Clifford P. (Carmelita) Atkinson of Tucson; a sister, Colleen R. (Frank) Lisciandrello of Tucson and three nieces and a nephew. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 6, 2012 at New Spirit Lutheran Church, 8701 E. Old Spanish Trail, Tucson. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements are by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY.
